about

In memory of my Dad, Charles de la Haye (1952-2007).

This music began life as text by author Jeff Noon. His fictional Cobralingus Engine uses electronic music processes to transform words. I transcribed these words back into music, each sentence interpreted as an instrumental line and each paragraph creating a sprawling, modal polyphony.

The project began as a composition for two pianos, stemming from my interest in Glitch Music; finding a way to misuse a system for creative reward.

Here, it is reduced to two electric basses, a cathartic process of distraction through the early stages of losing my father to cancer.
